WHAT IS A TRUNKSHOW?
A trunkshow is an old term which manufacturers in the garment business used many years ago to ship their samples or actual inventory to the retailers in a "big trunk".
Today this tradition still continues to work for the retailer, manufacturer and the customer. These samples or actual inventory shipped to the retailer are the new-styles for the upcoming season, something only retailers see months before the season starts. These trunkshows give you the perfect opportunity to preview exactly what the buyers of Jan's Boutique preview in the New York, California and the European showrooms months beforehand.
You can sometimes purchase these trunkshow garments or special order them in the color and size of your choice at the trunkshow. Trunkshows are a wonderful because it allows you to see more styles, enabling you to make an informed decision of which styles would look best on you. Jan's hosts over 50 trunkshows throughout the year. Reservations are only required for select couture designers, look to see if you need to rsvp below.
